Catalytic special fixture module for electrothermal systems |
1.Function: Catalysing H2O/CO2 electrolysis reaction under the synergistic effect of high temperature and electric field. 2.SOEC single cell: electrolyte: YSZ or GDC film (thickness 10-30 μm). Cathode (fuel electrode): Ni-YSZ, Ni-CeO2-YSZ or Co-Fe chalcogenide. Anode (oxygen electrode): LSCF or LSM. 3.catalyst modification: loading nanocatalysts (e.g. CeO2, Co3O4) on the cathode surface by impregnation method. 4. Gradient pore structure: optimise gas diffusion and reactivity. 5. Nano-catalyst: to enhance the electrocatalytic activity. Users can choose one or more kinds of special fixtures for electrothermal catalysis according to their needs. 1.Half-cell SOEC cell fixture, effective diameter φ12, area 1cm2, mainly analysing the performance of working electrode; 2.Tube type SOEC cell fixture, effective diameter φ12, area 1cm2, can analyse the performance of cathode and anode catalysts respectively; 3.Plate-type all-ceramic SOEC fixture, effective specification 20*20mm square, area 4cm2, all-ceramic system can avoid the influence of undesirable elements within the metal, the gas flow channel design without dead angle, to achieve efficient gas-solid reaction, the collector adopts platinum mesh, the contact area is large, the contact resistance is extremely small; Plate quartz SOEC fixture, effective specifications 20 * 20mm square, area 4cm2, can achieve the catalyst evaluation under the photoelectric thermal system. |

Electrothermal catalysis mechanism | Electrothermal catalysis refers to the significant enhancement of catalytic reaction rate and selectivity under the synergistic effect of electric and thermal fields. 1 Role of electric field Reduce activation energy: electric field reduces the activation energy of H2O/CO2 molecule dissociation by changing the charge distribution on the catalyst surface. Promote ion migration: The electric field accelerates the migration of O²- ions in the electrolyte and improves the electrolysis efficiency. Regulate the reaction path: the electric field can change the adsorption energy of the reaction intermediates and optimise the reaction path. 2 Role of thermal field Improve the reaction rate: high temperature increases the kinetic energy of molecules, accelerating the adsorption, dissociation and reorganisation of H2O/CO2. Improve catalyst activity: catalyst surface reconfiguration at high temperature exposes more active sites. Enhance ionic conductivity: high temperature enhances ionic/electronic conductivity of electrolyte and electrodes. 3 Electro-thermal synergistic effects Non-linear enhancement: The synergistic effect of electric and thermal fields is usually characterised by a non-linear enhancement effect, i.e. the performance enhancement under electro-thermal coupling is much higher than the superposition of separate electric or thermal fields. Localised hotspot effect: Localised hotspots may be generated in the region of electric field concentration, further promoting the reaction kinetics. |
